PARTICIPA CORNWALL offers specific tools to improve knowledge, understanding and awareness of how to address the climate and biodiversity crises at the community level. It also provides support and advice to strengthen local groups and organisations’ response to the ‘call to action’.
PARTICIPA CORNWALL is currently advising and engaging on multiple projects to promote a place-based community response to the climate and biodiversity crises.

Local consultations and co-design
Design and implementation of local consultations including via focus group testing, questionnaires and surveys, and interviews. Reaching beyond consultation, PARTICIPA CORNWALL will support community involvement in decision-making and co-design of policy and projects.
Advice and Training
PARTICIPA CORNWALL can provide advice to help local communities navigate the complexities of current policy, funding, and models of best practice to enable a community response to the climate and biodiversity challenges. Our CIC will also facilitate expert training including through workshops, presentations and mentoring.
Research
Relevant, tailored research can make complex issues and guidance more accessible to local communities, increasing understanding of what can be done e.g. research on the overall policy framework, regulations on renewable energy use in an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB), or research in support of local food strategies and local climate action plans.
Communication
Civic outreach can help communities benefit from access to relevant information on climate change and biodiversity loss and potential local mitigating actions. Activities in support of communications can include; organising and facilitating events, advocacy and public diplomacy, and the development and dissemination of innovative communication tools and products tailored to address specific local issues.
