PARTICIPA CORNWALL

Community-led action for Cornwall to address the climate and biodiversity crises

Citizen engagement

Engaging with citizens at the local level is integral to any effective strategy to address the climate and biodiversity crises. PARTICIPA CORNWALL encourages cooperation, synergy and active dialogue with and between groups and individuals across multiple sectors in Cornwall. Our CIC is committed to providing apolitical, neutral spaces for communities to discuss, influence and direct what happens in their area. PARTICIPA CORNWALL is ambitious for increased use of co-decision-making and co-design.

Research

Our CIC understands the importance of underpinning local engagement and activities with relevant local research tailored to address specific challenges facing local communities in relation to climate change and biodiversity loss and social impacts. PARTICIPA CORNWALL can draw on academic experience and established ties to research networks to provide such research.

Capacity building

Providing capacity building support, training and advice to local organisations and groups can be an effective tool in addressing challenges related to the climate and the biodiversity crisis at the community level. Drawing on our collective experience, PARTICIPA CORNWALL can provide locally tailored, place-based, capacity building support to local actors.
